AUTOMOTIVE DOCUMENTS

1394 TA Specifications are technical specifications that the 1394 TA has agreed on. The specifications are based on IEEE1394-1995 and derived standards.

1394 TA Members can download the 1394TA specifications for free from the members' website. Please note, however, that the copyright for each specification belongs to the 1394TA.

To purchase the 1394 Automotive Document Package, please contact Tina Lipscomb (tinal@1394ta.org or +1-425-870-6574).

The 1394 Automotive Document Package includes the following specifications and documents:

Documents Included in the 1394 Automotive Package

1394 Copper Automotive Standard (Supplement to IDB-1394)
(TA Specification #2008001)
The 1394 Copper Automotive Specification extends the IDB-1394 Automotive Specification to include operation over low-cost, high-performance copper cabling media. It defines the features and mechanisms that provide high-speed extensions in a forward and backward compatible fashion and the ability to signal over single hop distances of up to 8 meters with a minimum of 5 inline connectors, in an automotive environment. Critical vehicle functions and services are addressed that are non-safety related, including but not limited to multimedia and telematics applications at data rates of S400 or S800.

BT.601 Transport Over IEEE-1394 V1.1 (Revision 1.1a)
(TA Specification #2006020)
This document specifies a protocol for the transport of uncompressed or compressed video data in the 4:2:2 format of recommendation ITU-R BT.601 (including compatible extensions to this format for the higher and lower resolutions of other commonly used video resolutions) over High Performance Serial Bus, as specified by IEEE Std 1394-1995 as amended by IEEE Std 1394a-2000 and IEEE Std 1394b-2002 (collectively IEEE 1394). The data formats for the encapsulation of video data are compatible with those specified by IEC 61883-1. Associated audio data, if any, should be formatted as specified by IEC 61883-6.

1394 Automotive Specification (IDB-1394) 1.0
(TA Specification #2001018)
Supplemental information for a high-speed serial bus that integrates well with most IEEE standard 32-bit and 64-bit parallel buses is specified. It is intended to extend the usefulness of a low-cost interconnect integrated into an automobile environment between an embedded backbone and external peripherals. The standard follows the IEEE Std 1212-1991 Command and Status Register (CSR) architecture.

AMI-C 2002 1.0.2 Common Message Set
(TA Document #20092002)
This specification is based on the AMI-C 2002 1.0.2 specification released on August 4, 2005 to identify a set of CMS Messages compatible for AMI-C EPoC. This document captures the analysis of the operations as defined in the AMI-C document “Power Management EPoC SW Architecture_v0.8.doc”. All the new and modified CMS Messages are identified and their mapping to the AMIC-C types is captured.
AMI-C 3013 Power Management Architecture
(TA Document #20093013)
This specification is based on the AMI-C 3013 Power Management Architecture v1.00 document released on August 1, 2005. This document provides the architectural specification for realization of a Host Centric Power Management in 1394-Automotive Networks using an electrical control signal for changing
the power state of the Network.
AMI-C 3023 Power Management Specification
(TA Document #20093023)
This specification is based on the AMI-C 3023 Power Management Specification v1.00. The scope of this document is to describe functional specification at system and unit level for an in-vehicle 1394 network.
AMI-C 3033 Power Management EPOC System Description
(TA Document #20093033)
This specification is based on the AMI-C 3033 Power Management EPoC System Description V0.90. This document outlines the EPoC (Embedded Proof of Concept) system of Power Management Specification for IEEE1394 devices.
AMI-C 3034 Power Management Test Document
(TA Document #20093034)
This specification is based on AMI-C 3034 Power Management Test Document V1.00. This document describes the test approaches, test set up and test cases, which have been used during the AMI-C –EPOC for the successful demonstration
of power management capability of EPOC.
